“This Must Be the Place” is the best song in the world. Period. Whenever it comes on the radio it never fails that somebody in the room says, “Oh I LOVE this song”.

Or Tina for that matter. People can’t help but dance to this. The real goal is a song that the crowd will watch you dance to for the first half and feel compelled to join for the second. So pick a song you both love and get the party moving.

We are so excited about the new ‘Wild Medicine’ exhibition going on at the NYBG. The show opens on the 18th of this month and runs through September. We are longtime fans of Blue Hill, in all of its forms.  Working at Stone Barns often has solidified it as one of our favorite places ever to spend a day (work or otherwise).  Now Blue Hill has launched off-site catering and we couldn’t be more thrilled!  The gorgeous farm to table food can finally come to your table.  Whether you’re throwing a bash for a close few friends or a mass of them, Blue Hill ‘On The Road’, is sure to make your bash unforgettable!

 Getting back in the swing of things the past few weeks has been so much fun. Sometimes it’s a bit hard to transition from a quieter winter with more client meetings and less events to a booming, busy wedding season. Somehow this year has been more fun than ever and I think we can attribute much of it to our sweet, amazing clients and the jaw dropping product in the market. From the local helleborus in a range of colors to the local ranunculus, apple blossom, and coral charm peonies its been hard to not over buy every time we’re shopping. I captured these photos on my iPhone over the past week or two as we’ve been busy bees. Happy Spring!

I’m always envious of my friends who have a huge collection of family decor pieces in their homes. Somehow their homes always feel a bit cozier and more like a place to well call home. Juliet’s family has an incredible collection of Persian rugs and antique items that she now displays in her apartment beautifully. Every time I go over there it reminds me how important is to slowly begin collecting special pieces that you can hold onto forever.

Since getting hitched, it feels even more appropriate to start growing my own collection of items that we can hold onto for years to come. Long gone are the days of cheap Ikea furniture that you always wind up throwing out after a year or two. Above are some of the items that we’ve acquired over the past few years. My favorite is a huge persian rug (not shown here) that I bought from my mother’s friend in New Hampshire as he was closing his rug shop. It was a total splurge but something we’ll have for the rest of our lives and be able to pass down to one of our kids hopefully one day. We finally moved into an apartment with sunlight, which if you’re from NYC you know, is a very challenging characteristic to find in your home. I’m now able to keep a huge windowsill of plants alive and happy which in return makes me happier.  One of these days I’ll have someone take photographs of the gorgeous antique dessert plates given to us by Juliet’s mother for our wedding and our antique dessert flatware gifted by Juliet and her sister.

If you haven’t seen Queen of Versailles, set your DVR. The bizarre documentary has been streaming on Netflix for a few months, but Bravo will be airing the movie tonight for the first time on television.  Detailing the Siegel family, David Seigel’s timeshare company Westgate Resorts, and the 90,000 square foot home they are building outside of Orlando, FL.

Matriarch Jackie Siegel is a modern day Maire Antoinette and possibly a reality television star in the making.  If you’re all caught up with Game of Thrones and Mad Men, sit down tonight with someone (you’ll need somebody to gasp and exchange horrified looks with) and watch.  So go check your local listings.  Afterwards you’ll be grateful you have good sense and good taste.
